No on Gonzales
In November, I wrote about Bush's lawyer, so it isn't surprising I am joining the call asking senators to vote no on Gonzales which has been signed by many bloggers (there are lots of comments, so it may take a while to load. There is a list of bloggers).
If you blog, add your voice. And whether you blog or not, call your senator and urge them to vote no.
A vote is scheduled in the Judiciary committee on Wednesday.
If you're not convinced, read Mark Danner's NY Times op-ed, We Are All Torturers Now, and read book, Torture and Truth.
In the last few days, even more documents on torture have been released.
Also, Chelsea Green is giving copies of Guantánamo: What the World Should Know by Michael Ratner and Ellen Ray to all the bloggers who join the call to vote no on Gonzales. Some of the memos Gonzales wrote are on their site along with excerpts from the book and other info.
Ratner thinks that if more groups came out against Gonzelez earlier, he could have been defeated. Bruce Shapiro agrees.
